About Prophetess LaDonyaé Thomas
The Early Years: Seeds of a Prophetic Calling
From a very young age, LaDonyae Thomas displayed a deep spiritual sensitivity. As a child, she was known to be peculiar, always asking questions and sensing things beyond what others could see. She often had vivid dreams and walked in a quiet discernment that she didn't fully understand at the time. These early experiences were the seeds of a prophetic calling that would continue to unfold throughout her life.
The Divine Encounter
She was baptized in 1998, and in 2001, during a revival service, she was filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. In 2005, during a prayer service, she received the gift of speaking in tongues and was unable to speak English for 24 hours. This divine encounter marked a significant turning point in her walk with God.
During that season, she began waking up in the middle of the night with specific states impressed upon her heart. Though she didn't fully understand why, she obeyed the prompting to pray. As her intercession deepened, God began revealing the faces of pastors and leaders, along with insight into their struggles. These encounters introduced her to a deeper level of prophetic intercession.
Faithful Service: Building a Foundation
Before stepping into public ministry, LaDonyae served faithfully in her local church alongside her family, cleaning the church bathrooms and tending to behind-the-scenes duties with humility and commitment. Her and her family faithfully attended every service. Over time, she held multiple ministry roles including Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Director, assistant to the Women's Auxiliary, Minister, and Evangelist. These early assignments helped form a solid foundation of leadership, sacrifice, and spiritual maturity that would later become the foundation of her ministry.
The Prophetic Emergence
From 2007 to 2009, she remained submitted and was processed through a season of preparation as God began to shape her for the next phase of her calling. During that time, she participated in evangelistic Friday night services where she was consistently stretched through prayer, fasting, and opportunities to minister the Word. In December 2009, during a service in Jasper, Texas, her former Pastor laid hands on her, affirming the call of God over her life.
Shortly after that moment of affirmation, she began to prophesy openly for the first time. Although she had long been accustomed to releasing what God revealed to her through dreams and prayer, this marked a new dimension of boldness, speaking the word of the Lord publicly under the unction of the Holy Spirit. Around that same time, she also began preaching consistently every third Sunday, which was designated as Youth Sunday at the church. These opportunities became a place of regular sharpening, where her voice, confidence, and prophetic flow were further developed.
In January 2010, she received her first speaking engagement outside of her home church.
Establishing The Altar: A Place of Prayer
In January 2019, she launched The Power of Prayer Intercessory Call, a consistent space for prayer, obedience, and prophetic instruction, birthed from years of private consecration and surrender. This ministry remains active today, continuing to gather intercessors in faithful prayer and prophetic obedience.
Official Recognition of a Divine Calling
In 2021, after years of actively ministering in churches and operating in her prophetic calling, LaDonyae received formal licensing as both Prophetess and Pastor under the covering of an Overseer from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This affirmed what God had already established and what the Body of Christ had long witnessed in her life. That same year, she founded Faith Builders International Ministries in Lufkin, Texas, a ministry rooted in intercession, deliverance, and kingdom truth.
Shortly after founding the ministry, God sent LaDonyae to Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she remained until she was released to move to Houston, Texas. Although the move was beyond her personal desire, she obeyed the voice of God, leaving behind businesses, connections, and comfort in exchange for purpose. It was a costly but necessary shift that revealed the weight of her call and her unwavering commitment to go wherever God sends her.
A Ministry of Impact
As the ministry expanded, so did the vision for community impact. LaDonyae spearheaded several outreach efforts including the Community Prayer Parade, Prayer at the Park, Bingo for the Elderly, and Free Community Events aimed at uplifting families and neighborhoods. Her Heart for the Homeless Program reflects her deep compassion for those often overlooked—offering prayer, basic resources, and dignity to the underserved.
The Mandate: Jeremiah 1:10
It is no surprise that LaDonyae is called to break cycles and destroy generational curses. She is the first female in her family to accept the call to preach and has never looked back. Her life bears witness to the burden breakers carry and the price of being the first to walk in obedience.
She has been called to dismantle religious traditions, challenge false foundations, and rebuild with truth. Her ministry is non-conventional by design: prophetic, apostolic, and Spirit-led. She believes in the power of the Holy Spirit, the necessity of a renewed mind, and the authority of God's voice. She also boldly embraces the supernatural, having experienced divine encounters such as angelic visitations, an out-of-body experience, and the power of God working through her to heal and cast out demons.
Her journey is a reflection of a peculiar anointing, a prophetic mandate, and a divine assignment that continues to unfold with every step of obedience.
With a Jeremiah 1:10 mandate, she is Marked, Set apart and Called for such a time as this.
